The Ontario Institute of Agrologists (OIA) and the Algonquin College (AC) have partnered together to fast-track and automatically accept AC Graduates under the Articling Agrologist (Ontario) designation.  This designation will validate and ensure the agricultural industry recognizes your Algonquin College educational achievements!

Validate your Accomplishments with a Professional Designation-  

OIA welcomes recently graduated students from the Business - Agriculture (Co-op and Non Co-op Version) program, through the Algonquin College Heritage Institute (Perth), to apply to the OIA Algonquin College Articling Agrologist program as they start their career. Once entered into the program all graduates who have completed their specified diploma will be designated the title of Articling Agrologist, Technical (A.Ag.(T)) behind their name. This professional designation will be the symbol of your educational accomplishments and indicate your commitment to continued learning and improved professionalism.  

 

What is an OIA Professional Designation?

In 2013 the Ontario Government passed Bill Pr15 "An Act respecting the Ontario Institute of Professional Agrologists" which reaffirmed the long term status providing the OIA with the right to the exclusive use of the professional designation “Professional Agrologist (Ontario)”, “P.Ag.”, “Technical Agrologist (Ontario)”, “T.Ag.”, “Articling Agrologist (Ontario)” and “A.Ag.”.

Costs- $120.00 + HST annually.  

 

Who Can Participate?-

Algonquin College graduates who have graduated from the below listed program in 2023, or since 2019.

2-year programs qualify for Technical Agrologist designation after completing the Articling Agrologist requirement.

  • Diploma in Business - Agriculture (Co-op and Non Co-op Version)
