Presenters: Moazame Mesgar, A.Ag. will present on the topic of  “Effects of cropping systems and tillage practices on the chemical composition and thermal stability of soil organic matter”.

I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Guelph, specializing in the study of the impacts of land-use on soil organic matter (SOM) stability and carbon dynamics. In my academic journey, I have attained both a B.Sc. and a Master's degree in Chemistry from my home country, Iran. During my Master's program, my research focused on exploring chemical and biological processes in water and wastewater treatments. Throughout my Ph.D., I have utilized solid-state 13C NMR spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and mineralization experiments to investigate the changes in chemical properties of SOM resulting from various land-management practices.
