Date: Mar. 28, 2019
Location: Ottawa Food Bank Warehouse - 1317 Michael Street, Ottawa
Next Branch Meeting: Thursday March 28, 2019 beginning at 7:00 pm at Ottawa Food Bank Warehouse, 1317 Michael Street, Ottawa:
- Tricia Johnson of the Ottawa Food Bank will welcome attendees and highlight the service to the vulnerable in our community that they provide (http://www.ottawafoodbank.ca/).
- It has now been several years since the University of Guelph shut down the much beloved Kemptville College leaving Eastern Ontario without post secondary agricultural education. A tremendous local public effort was made to replace Kemptville College, however that hope has faded. But now there is something new on offer. Martin Savard of Algonquin College will speak to us on the new agriculture business program at the Perth Campus.
- Pizza will be provided free of charge by the branch following Mr. Savard’s presentation.
If you wish, please feel free to bring a contribution to the Ottawa Food Bank in the form of non-perishable food or cash. (But note that for every dollar donated to the Ottawa Food Bank, they can purchase $5.00 worth of food! And one of our (anonymous) members will be matching any cash donations, dollar for dollar.) Free parking is available on-site.
RSVP to Don Good, indicating whether you will be partaking of pizza, at email@example.com or 613-523-2015 preferred, but please come anyway. For security reasons, the Ottawa Food Bank has asked that you please identify yourself at the door to the organizers.
