Guest Speaker: Eric Biddiscombe (Senior Director Planning Produce Business Unit, Loblaws)

Eric Biddiscombe currently works with Loblaws as  Senior Director Field 2 Fork Produce Procurement focusing on improving Taste, Quality Specs and Freshness. Eric has worked with Loblaws for 29 years in various managerial roles within Supply Chain DC Operations, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Business Systems Development & Process Improvement.

Eric also sits on the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee for Loblaws.  Eric proudly sits on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Produce Marketing Association and also Chairs the Education Committee for the CPMA. In addition participates in various Produce Industry working groups involving government collaboration. A key area of collaboration has been the Produce Traceability Initiative.

Topic: Managing Grower Relationships to improve Taste Quality and Freshness

Eric will share a great example of how we worked with Vineland Growers to improve Taste, Quality & Freshness with Local Peaches. Taking into consideration - customer feedback, growing practices, packaging and merchandising
