OIA Guelph Branch Event

Grand River Raceway

Wednesday, July 6, 2011

Elora, ON

On July 6th please join the OIA’s Guelph Branch for an evening of fun, networking, renewal of friendships and professional development at the Grand River Raceway at Elora.  The theme of the evening is “Behind the Paddock Door – The Ontario Harness Racing Industry Revealed”.

Between 5-6 pm in the Wellington Room we have arranged an in-depth presentation on the Ontario harness racing industry.  The industry serves as a major contributor to the agricultural economy in Ontario.    Dr. Ted Clarke, an equine expert, will outline the many different players within the industry; the wide range of positions which all contribute to the production and presentation of harness racing in Ontario; and the significant economic benefits associated with horse racing, including its role as the third largest agricultural sector in the province.

Following our presentation we have our dinner.

For only $15.35 per person, including tax and gratuity, a full buffet dinner awaits all OIA members and their guests.  Beverages are not included in the meal prices.  This low price will include your own racing program and seating in the comfort of the tiered dining room, overlooking the racetrack.

We have also arranged a rare opportunity for Dr. Clarke to provide us with a barn tour that will take place after race 6 (approximately 9:30 pm).  Later we will have a group picture taken with a race winner in the winners circle!
